Knee and Hip Replacement Exercise

Are you about to have a knee or hip replacement surgery? Then, indulge into regular exercise before your surgery. Regular exercise will not only help you recover easily after operation but also make your hip and knee muscles strong, regularize the movement of your hip and knee and reduce your body weight. In fact, it shall help you to get a clear idea of what type of exercises you should do after your surgery. Engage in swimming, regular walking or jogging, cycling along with some stretching and strengthening free hand workout. Exercise your pelvic bladder muscles and lower abdominal muscles with the help of breathing exercises. Do slow arm chair push-ups, leg slide outs, hip and hamstring stretches, hip lifts, calf and thigh stretches and knee lifts at least once a day. Post surgery maintains a proper and regular exercise schedule. In the post-surgery period, perform light exercises such as ankle rotations, butt contractions, ankle pumps, straight leg raises, quadriceps workout, hip and knee stretches and some of the pre-surgery exercises. However, be careful when you workout, lest you injure your replaced knee or hip.
